ADSA Talks – Systemic Diseases & Periodontal Disease

The second series in the newly launched ADSA Talks will be coming to a lecture theatre near you! We’re honoured to welcome Dr Michaela von Geijer, a Specialist Odontologist at TrollDental to deliver her presentation on Systemic Diseases and Periodontal Disease. This event will be catered and attendees will receive a professional practice training kit and other additional products.

Dr Michaela will be presenting the latest research regarding links between periodontal disease and systemic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, preterm birth, lung diseases and rheumatoid arthritis. With scientific publications investigating these associations becoming more comprehensive, Dr Michaela will discuss how we can apply the latest knowledge to a clinical setting.

Students present at the lecture will also receive a Certificate of Attendance. Be sure to find your local Uni Representative at the talk hosted at your school, or put your name down on the ADSA list at the registration desk on the night of the Clinician Talk. Please bring your ADSA Membership card, but if you haven’t received one yet, your university representative will sign you up on the night.


Dr Michaela von Geijer achieved her dental degree from the Malmö University, School of Dentistry in 1987. She has extensive clinical experience, with a special interest in prosthodontics and implant dentistry. Dr. von Geijer also has experience in lecturing both to students as a teaching assistant at the Histology Department at the University of Lund. A high proportion of her work at TePe consists of giving lectures to the profession and educating students in the importance of controlling the plaque biofilm from different perspectives. Michaela is a much appreciated lecturer who has the talent to integrate the science into daily practice.
